SMD Soldering

SMDI just got a new holder for circuit boards when im soldering, and some good liquid flux.

So I figured I would give it all a shot and solder this guy. I did it using the drag-soldering method. It worked really well on one side, but was a little difficult on the other. Some pins got stuck together.

So after soldering this guy I figured I would try it out. This chip is a 4 channel touch sensor. (I think a QT240). I did a 1 channel no problem, but the 4 didn’t work as hoped. I hope I didn’t fry it with heat. But yeah, SMD soldering is a lot easier than I thought when you have the right tools. (I just need a better iron).
